Designed to signal the level of optically dense sediment (activated sludge, sand, etc.) in a liquid medium. Controlled media - wastewater from industrial, municipal and agricultural facilities, aggressive, with film-forming, sticking and crystallizing substances. The principle of operation of the alarm is based on the difference in the propagation of an infrared light beam in optically transparent and opaque media. In an optically opaque medium, the light beam is interrupted, which fixes the alarm. The alarm is made in the form of a single structure and is a sealed cylinder that is attached to the tank with a rod. A 1/2-inch diameter water pipe can be used as a rod. The length of the pipe is determined by the required trigger level of the alarm.

The sediment detector SO-1P is portable.

When the alarm is turned on, the green "POWER" LED lights up. If the green LED flashes, then the batteries need to be replaced. The presence of sediment weakens the intensity of infrared radiation, and when the minimum intensity level is reached, the red LED "SEDIMENT" lights up. To adjust the sensitivity of the alarm, remove the cover of the power supply. The radiation intensity is regulated by a blue tuning resistor located under the cover of the PSU power supply. When the screw rotates clockwise, the radiation intensity increases, counterclockwise - decreases. During manufacture, the maximum value of the intensity of infrared radiation is set. To replace the batteries, open the cover of the PSU power supply.
